Textbooks

Here are some of the textbooks that we commonly use in class.

こどものにほんご

読み書きを必要とする外国人児童のための全13課の初級日本語教科書です。内容は小学校の1学期の行事に沿っています。各課を2つの場面にわけ、それぞれ1時間から2時間かけて教えることを基本としています。

 

名詞文、形容詞文、動詞文の丁寧体(敬体)の現在と過去、名詞文、形容詞文、動詞文現在の普通体(常態)までを学べるようになっています。読み書きに必要な文型学習を基本としていますが、会話・練習にイラストを多用し、場面をわかりやすくし、読み書きにつながる日本語の学習をするための教科書です。

Japanese for Young Peopleは、ティーンエージャーの日本語・日本文化への関心に応える初級教材として、各地で使われています。

A comprehensive course for teaching Japanese to young adults in English-speaking countries — from The Association for Japanese-Language Teaching (AJALT), developers of the renowned Japanese for Busy People series.

 

Japanese for Young People is a three-level series designed for junior high and high school students, with an optional starter level for elementary students. With an emphasis on the coordination of structure and verbal communication skills, this program builds upon the basics of Japanese grammar through the use of key sentences, dialogues, exercises, and entertaining activities. Exposure to spoken Japanese is facilitated by three compact discs.

Marugoto

This coursebook, Marugoto: Japanese Language and Culture, was developed for adult learners of Japanese as a foreign language, based on this way of thinking. Marugoto: Japanese Language and Culture is based on the JF Standard for Japanese Language Education and was designed with an emphasis on using Japanese to communicate, and on understanding and respecting other cultures. In addition, the coursebook’s contents and approach were devised so that students can enjoy studying language and culture for their own sake, even if they are not in Japan. Each topic in Marugoto: Japanese Language and Culture contain situations where people from a variety of cultural backgrounds interact in Japanese. You can experience various aspects of Japanese culture through photographs and illustrations while listening to a number of natural conversations taking place in each situation.

Genki

The third edition of the most highly regarded teaching textbook on the Japanese language, covering speaking, listening, reading, and writing to cultivate overall language ability. Each lesson in the revised edition features a new section dubbed “Culture Notes, and now includes the audio CD companion which is in mp3 format ready to install on any music player.

漢字たまご

Kanji Tamago or Egg signifies the growth of learners. First, learners learn fundamental rules of Kanji and elementary characters by heart. Then based on the acquired knowledge learners will actively learn characters of their own interest or specialty. And finally, they explore the ability and knowledge of Kanji in actual social life. Such a process looks similar to the growth of eggs, doesn’t it?

中級へ行こう

初級レベルを学習した方が、中級レベルに移行できるように作られたテキスト。JLPT N2,N3 N4レベル相当の文型、語彙を学習します。中級レベルは、語彙数、文章の長さ、学習項目の多様さが要求されます。初級の復習と追加文法が勉強できる、初級から中級への架け橋といえるテキストです。


This textbook prepares students who have finished elementary Japanese for the intermediate level, introducing more advanced grammar and expressions through various reading, writing, listening, and speaking exercises. Review sessions also are given on grammar and expressions studied at the beginner’s level.

この教科書は、受け身形、使役形までを含む基本文法と100字程度の基本漢字の習得を終え、 初級レベルの四技能を一応身につけた学生を対象としている。
中級レベルの日本語の「聞く」「話す」「読む」「書く」の四技能を並行的に伸ばすと同時に、日本事情への理解を深めることをめざします。
